Eileen Kay was born and raised in New Jersey in the USA, and then fled.
Her undergraduate education was in Music and English at Oberlin College in Ohio, post-grad in Education at the Suzuki Institute in Japan, followed by a Distinction in Editing from London Film School. She was a music teacher in the Middle East, a sound editor at the BBC in London, and had a comedy stage play, Little White Lies, produced in Scotland.
In London, she was half of comedy magic act Dork and Tacky, and was also KISS-FM radio co-presenter Carmen Ghia. She’s lived in the UK for over thirty years, is a dual USA and UK citizen, and splits her time between Europe and Thailand.
